Happy Thanksgiving Day 2011

Happy Thanksgiving Day to ALL my friends across the pond.
with love, thanks and many blessings....

Fr Austin at A Concord Pastor Comments has a fine feast of prayers to share for the day from here.

This one below in full is one fine treat.  Blessings and thanks Austin !

O good and gracious God!

Make us grateful for all you have given us;
let our needs not blind us to all we have.

Make us grateful for those who love us;
let no jealousy separate us from hearts who hold us.

Make us grateful for those who are with us;
let no grief isolate us from their loving embrace.

Make us grateful for the good work we have done;
let our failures not hide your grace within us.

Make us grateful for the freedom we enjoy;
let no burden keep us down.

Make us grateful for the peace you give;
let no victory take its place.

Make us grateful for our dreams;
let no disappointment keep us from hope.

Make us grateful for our faith in you;
let no doubt keep us from your love.

Give us grateful hearts, O God,
to praise and thank you
in good times and in bad,
in sickness and in health,
in joy and in sorrow.

This is the day you have made, O Lord:
let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Amen.

My Thanksgiving post from last year here  (Times are hard so I'm recycling)

The quality of mercy is not strained.
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven upon the place beneath.
It is twice blest: It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.
