Feast of St Clare of Assisi 2012

My post from 2011 on the feast of St Clare of Assisi is here.

Clare was Co-foundress of the Order of Poor Ladies, or Clares, and first Abbess of San Damiano; born at Assisi, 16 July, 1194 and died there 11 August, 1253.

Here are a few more snippets/links on her combined with other saints feast days this week in a previous post here.

This is a site on Clare with an audio download story from someone called Sr. Joan Mueller, Professor from Creighton University.

The site above mentions a DVD on the life of St Clare and Francis produced by Ignatius Press . More details on that are available from here.

Annoyingly it is only available in the USA (excluding Puerto Rico) and Canada (excluding French-speaking Canada.)

Catholic Encyclopedia's lengthy life story of Clare is here
and a nice piece here.

and this address on Clare's feast day from 2010 from Pope Benedict XVI.

"May the Lord be with you always and may you be with Him always, and in every place. Amen."

Blessing of Saint Clare and image above from here

and some of St Clare's  prayers here ( See their sidebar St Clare speaks)

Clare is also the patron saint of television. God help her!
