The Calling Of Delight

Jesuit Father Greg Boyle, wrote his moving memoir, Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion in 2010.

He landed as an idealistic young Jesuit in a gang-heavy neighborhood of Los Angeles over two decades ago. Now he heads Homeboy Industries, which employs former gang members in a constellation of businesses from screen printing to a farmers market to a bakery. An op-ed in the Los Angeles Times said of Homeboy Industries, "How much bleaker and meaner would LA be without it?"

Krista Tippett from On Being, interviewed Greg Boyle in the summer of 2012 and the programme can be heard as a podcast, " The Calling of Delight."

It contains some truly wonderful inspirational pieces for reflection so if you can spare a few moments I strongly recommend it.

Doug Neill's great sketchnotes also pick up on some of the ideas in the podcast of "The Calling of Delight"

Here's a sample

"The day will never come when I am as holy as the people I serve."
